We have used the tool for over 3+ years. It is generally fairly stable, though we did experience issues when we expanded into different geographical areas. We did have issues with them and eventually everything did get sorted out. They have some good features which are impressive. The dialer is easy to use and operate. We were also able to use their IP phones which were pretty smooth.

Ring Central has a vast variety of features which I think will work for most Mid Size Organizations.They have a phone app which can be downloaded and used. We did not actually need phone lines for every rep because of its technology (I keep forgetting that name). With this you no longer need a traditional phone. The working hours can be adjusted with the tool. You can create rules for call handling based on any business need

My company started using RingCentral Office about a year ago and it has completely changed communication within our organization and with our customers! The system is completely online, so no need for a bulky office phone on everyone’s desk. There are so many customizable features available through RingCentral that would not be as easily possible through a standard phone system. We are able to have separate lines and voicemail boxes for each person and we are able to alter the order of who receives a general line call first. Working remotely has never been easier with RingCentral! I am able to log in to my phone line on the mobile RingCentral app and take calls, send messages and make phone calls just as if I were at my desk! This feature has truly been life changing in our office!

Because the system is all online, the system has been down a few times in the past year and a half. It was only down for about 30 minutes, but still frustrating! We were unable to contact customer support at that time either.

Advice to Others

If you are contemplating ditching your standard phone system, consider RingCentral Office! The system has helped streamline our office phone system completely! We are able to customize so many features now that were not possible before RingCentral! My favorite part of RingCentral is their mobile app. I can travel and work remotely but still log into my phone line through the app and be able to communicate with colleagues and customers just like I was at my desk!

RingCentral is a great phone product. I’ve used this for years and have recommended it to many people. It’s features are easy to use and you get a lot for the price. It doesn’t matter if you’re new start up or you’ve been around for years, RingCentral has great options to help with your telephone needs. The extension and voicemail features are easy to use. I think the phone app is awesome. This product enabled us to provide phone access to our team members without having to install phone lines in each of our offices. The app makes it so that you no longer need a traditional phone on your desk. The software lets you set hours of operation. Plus, you can even create rules for call handling for specific days and times.

Pros

If you only want to hear the sound of your prospect hanging up the phone then RingCentral is your choice. But wait, it gets better. Call their technical support team and watch your blood pressure explode. First attempt to make it works requires more money per month, Paid it but nothing worked. Call back only to be told to pay more money to make it work. Paid it, still will not work. Third call they tell me that I did not need to spend all the extra money and that it is fixed. As soon as they hang up and transfer to get a refund land which takes another 30 minutes, the system stops working. Call back to be told that I need toupgrade to a higher plan. This company is really bad and a total waste of money and valuable time.

Looks cool on the cloud. Does not work on your desktop!

If you buy a phone system, it should allow you to call out. Not Ring Central! Only works while on the phone to tech support for 3 hours. And then when a client or customer calls you and all you hear is them slamming the phone down after being transferred and never connected. Horrible phone system in my opinion.

Advice to Others

Get Plivo or Twilio or something that actually works.

As a smaller company, ringcentral worked okay for us. But as we grew the call quality we received continued to get worse. We would try to work with the support to figure out what was going on but we could never fully resolve the issues.

NONE. Quality issues on a large network that they cant resolve, we confirmed Ive done everything on my side that is possible. The other issue is that half the time I call there customer support department I have to tell them how to do there job. very frustrating.

Our company purchase Ring Central thinking it would save us money by consolidating the phones and webinar. The lines are horrible. When you call someone, there’s a delay then you hear your own voice in the background as you are speaking and you are talking over your caller too!

Pros

Simple to add contacts. You have the ability to have multiple extensions if needed. It is easy to tell where/who the faxes came from and you can respond simply by clicking on the number or contact it came from. You are able to create a cover sheet when uploading the needed file(s). You can easily tell if the full fax was received because it will show the number of pages that are supposed to have come through.

Cons

A couple businesses have had issues sending faxes to us; but the problem is more than likely on their end and not related to RingCentral. Everything else about the software has worked smoothly.

Pros

I have just in the past couple weeks started using RingCentral for our office and the difference is night and day! We had been using an old Rolodex with business cards. That was copied onto an excel sheet. Everything had to be updated all the time and when it was updated, the entire staff would not always get the memo. With RingCentral, everyone’s business contacts are updated simultaneously. We no longer have nearly the headaches we used to. If you have an office ten people or more, I would highly recommend looking into RingCentral!

Cons

The only negative thing about RingCentral is that if you are not around wifi, it can run up your data charges with your carrier if you are not careful. I think you can fix that in settings though.

TRAFFIC CHANGES: Additional changes to traffic flow along with construction detours to our Temple main site with start on Tuesday, June 20, 2017. The intersection South 5th Street at Avenue U will be closed for several weeks to work on another phase to update area roadways. Estimated completion time is the middle to the end of August pending weather conditions. The recommended route from the southwest and west (east and north bound from I-35 and Loop 363) will be to take South 31st Street to Avenue R to access the facility. The secondary route will be take the 5th Street exit and follow the detour signs to 7th Street to Avenue R. Click here for map.

Starting Monday (Jan. 16, 2017), TxDOT will close the eastbound Loop 363 turnaround to north Spur 290 (1st Street) and the southbound 1st Street ramp to eastbound Loop 363. Congratulations to Julio Guitierrez UCF’s first ever hackathon sanctioned by Major League Hacking (MLH). A hackathon is an event where you have 24 (or more) contiguous hours to develop a mobile app, a game, some awesome hardware, or anything that makes your ideas come to life. Julio, with four other students, made a game for the Oculus Rift where you throw a javelin using the Myo armband. They won “Best Use of VR.”

Julio also recently landed a summer internship at Microsoft and will work for the Universal Windows Store group. Congratulations, Julio!

Lucas Pasqualin 1 of 3 Selected to Study Abroad at the Children’s Media Department of FIDMT in Erfurt, Germany

Congratulations to Lucas Pasqualin, a student working in Prodigy at IST, who has been selected as 1 of 3 undergraduate students from UCF to study abroad this summer at the Children’s Media Department of FIDMT in Erfurt, Germany. This is a result of an NSF funded project. He will have a mentor who will seek to grow his professional skills in an international research setting.

The research is primarily focused on Digital Storytelling, with an emphasis on Children’s Games and Dynamic Storytelling. The researchers would like to design a system that a child can interact with, and ask questions such as “Can you tell me a different story?”, or “What would happen if. ” The research encompasses such topics as formal methods for generating and storing new story lines, the effect of digital avatars on listener engagement, and other related technologies.

Work Experience
Students select one of the following two areas of specialization:
(1) Hotel or (2) Culinary. An integral part of each specialization is an off-campus industry-based work experience related to the students’ area of specialization.

Students are enrolled in a work experience which opens career opportunities in the hospitality industry and further supplements laboratory experiences that expose them to their chosen field of interest within the diverse areas of hospitality.
