How to Research and Apply for Business Auto Loans

January 27, 2012

If you need to learn how to get a business car loan. below are some steps to take. A business car loan can be an excellent way to secure a nice tax deduction, as well as help your business’ credit score.

You need to know what both your business and personal credit is before you go to your loan officer. Call around for the best rates, and make sure your business credit meets their minimum requirements. Too many inquiries to your credit will lower your credit score (as well as your business’). Try to use the same bank or lending party you used to secure the business loan, as you will get a much better rate.

Guaranty

If your business credit score is not great or the company is new, you may need to sign a personal guarantee for the loan. If this happens, you need a copy of your personal credit to make sure it is good. Most lenders require that the owner of a business has good credit before granting the loan. Get a good look at your personal score when you look at the business’ score. Sitting in front of the loan officer is no time to find out you have a bad score. If the bank extends a car loan to a business or corporation, and that business subsequently closes or goes out of business–the bank has no recourse, except the possible repossession of the vehicle. There is no one to sue or send a collection agency after. That can make them reluctant to offer a loan.

  • save in a low-risk product that helps protect your savings from inflation
  • supplement your retirement income
  • give as a gift (Giving Savings Bonds as Gifts)
  • pay for education (Using Bonds for Education)

A security that earns interest based on combining a fixed rate and an inflation rate.

A combination of a fixed rate and an inflation rate that can and usually does change twice-a-year.

Federal income tax: Yes

State and local income tax: No

Using the money for higher education may keep you from paying federal income tax on your savings bond interest. Using EE or I Bonds for Education

Electronic: $25 for a $25 I Bond

$10,000 each calendar year for each Social Security Number. You may buy up to $10,000 in electronic I Bonds, and up to $5,000 in paper I Bonds bought with your IRS tax refund.

Electronic: Any amount from $25 to $10,000 to the penny. For example, with electronic bonds, you could buy an I Bond for $50.23.

I Bonds are meant to be long-term investments. They continue to earn interest for up to 30 years.

You can cash them in after one year. But if you cash them in before five years, you lose the last three months of interest. (If you cash in an I Bond after 18 months, you get the first 15 months of interest.)

You can arrange to buy electronic bonds in your TreasuryDirect account through payroll direct deposit.

How do I Bonds earn interest?

Interest on an I Bond rates is a combination of two rates:

  1. A fixed rate of return which remains the same throughout the life of the I Bond

Interest is earned on the bond every month. (However, values displayed by the Savings Bond Calculator for bonds that are less than 5 years old do not include the latest 3 months of interest. These values reflect the interest penalty.)

The interest is compounded semiannually: Every six months, on the 6th and 12th month anniversaries of the issue date, all interest the bond has earned in previous months is in the bond’s new principal value on which interest is earned for the next 6 months.

Specialized in education and research in management, HEC Paris offers a complete and unique range of educational programs for the leaders of tomorrow: Masters Programs, MBA, PhD, Executive MBA, TRIUM Global Executive MBA and Executive Education open-enrolment and custom programs.

Founded in 1881 by the Paris Chamber of Commerce and Industry and founding member of Université Paris-Saclay, HEC Paris has a permanent faculty, more than 4,400 students and over 8,000 managers and executives in training every year.

Master in Management – Grande Ecole

The Grande École curriculum is divided into a generalist phase and a specialization phase. The first phase concentrates on business fundamentals, while the second one focuses on acquiring an expertise (chosen according to the professional goals of the student). The unique structure of the curriculum enables students to acquire both an excellent grounding in general management and expertise in a specific field. We firmly believe this combination is the key success factor in training future leaders and making a lasting impact on the careers of our students. The second year of the Master’s program Cycle is composed of a specialized and professional curriculum, and the composition of a research paper.

Specialized Masters / MSc

Specialized Masters are one-year Master’s degrees taught in French. They are designed for students who already hold a Master’s degree in an other field and wish to specialize in a specific field of management. MSc programs are one-year Master’s degrees taught in English. They are designed for students who hold a Bachelor degree in any field from leading international universities.

MBA

Custom designed for managers between the ages of 25 to 35 with previous work experience averaging 6 years, the MBA program addresses both functional and crossfunctional skills, through a fundamental and a customized thread to cover all areas of management in depth. Highly selective, the program has around 250 participants per year, from 52 different nationalities with diverse backgrounds and experiences.

Participants gain hands-on, practical experience through seminars integrated into the curriculum, such as the MBA Tournament and the off-campus leadership seminar at St-Cyr Military Academy.

Executive MBA

The Executive MBA is a transformational experience which offers senior managers and executives from all around the world the opportunity to select one of the 8 majors that take place in 14 international locations, and also to take classes in any of its different tracks in France or Qatar.

The EMBA is an interactive and intensive program developed to provide executives with an understanding of the international business context, as well as the comprehensive, practical and innovative knowledge and skills they need, to put their vision into action.

TRIUM Global Executive MBA

TRIUM Global Executive MBA enables executives to understand the world, as it is today and will be tomorrow.

Ranked #3 Executive MBA worldwide by the Financial Times, it is a unique degree jointly awarded by 3 world-renowned universities: HEC Paris, London School of Economics Political Science, New York University Stern School of Business.
