Types of Car Insurance – Car Insurance Policies – Coverage: Farmers Insurance, tennessee automobile insurance plan.

#Tennessee #automobile #insurance #plan

Types of Auto Insurance Coverage

Car insurance can cover injuries and property damage, but different options can cover different situations.

Common Auto Insurance Coverage

Understand the common types of auto coverage and get the insurance you want, to fit your budget.

Liability Coverage

There are two types of liability coverage – coverage for Bodily Injury and coverage for Personal Property. Most states require you to carry a minimum amount of liability coverage, or post a bond, to register your vehicle or obtain a driver’s license. If you’re legally responsible, or “liable” for damages, Liability coverage helps pay for them.

Legally required for drivers in almost every state, Liability coverage includes Bodily Injury and Property Damage coverage, which pay for someone’s medical expenses, personal injuries, and property damage if you’re at-fault.

Collision Coverage

If you hit something like another vehicle or a fixed object like a guard rail, lamp post, or telephone pole, Collision Coverage helps pay for the damages to your car.

Comprehensive Coverage

If your car is broken into, or dented in a hail storm, Comprehensive Coverage would help cover the losses to your car.

Sometimes called “Other Than Collision” or “Fire and Theft,” Comprehensive covers losses from things other than an accident, like vandalism, riots, floods, hail, fire, animal collisions, and theft.

Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist Coverage

These days, about 1 in 8 driversfooter note* are completely uninsured…and about 30% of drivers don’t have enough insurance. That’s why it’s important to consider Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist Coverage. It provides Liability (Bodily Injury and Property Damage) coverage for you, if an uninsured or underinsured motorist is at fault in an accident.

Medical Payments

If you or anyone in your car is ever hurt in an accident, Medical Coverage can pay for their medical expenses.

Personal Injury Protection (PIP)

PIP is similar to Medical Payments coverage, but it covers a wider range of costs. It can help pay for medical and rehabilitation expenses, work loss, funeral costs, and even replacement services.

Many states require drivers to carry a minimum level of PIP coverage.

When deciding on your Auto insurance policy or making changes to your coverage, it’s important to understand what each option does, and how it would work if you ever needed it. Some coverages are required by your state, while others are extra options you may want to expand your coverage.

How you’d like to customize your Car insurance depends on your needs, budget, and the amount of coverage you want. Get an Auto insurance quote or work with your local Farmers agent to choose the coverage combinations that provide the best Car insurance coverage at a price that fits your budget.

*According to a 2014 study by the Insurance Research Council (IRC).

Bianca, just over two years old, was born deaf. Her mother, Ashley, says she wasn’t deaf in the womb. When Bianca was born, her potassium and creatinine levels were “sky high,” causing doctors to believe that her kidneys led to her deafness.

Traveling the Distance

Before Ashley discovered Airlift Hope of America, she was driving about 500 miles (10 hours), round trip, to Bianca’s doctor’s appointments at Carolina Children’s Communic. “They got us to our medical appointments,” Ashley says in reference to Airlift Hope of America. She says this has helped to make things much easier on her, since she and Bianca must make this trip once every two weeks.

On her second birthday, Bianca received a cochlear implant in her right ear. She must go to Carolina Children’s Communic every two weeks to have the implant turned up. Her hearing in her right ear is now at fifty and, according to Ashley, it only has to be turned up two more times before Bianca’s left ear is at full hearing.

“She’s been through a lot since she’s been born,” Ashley says about her daughter. Bianca still experiences different struggles, such as having to bathe with an ear plug to keep her implant from getting wet, but her mother tells us that Bianca’s implant has helped her to lead a relatively normal life. She is capable of hearing and understanding people, and she can also say words such as, “Momma,” “bye bye,” “brother,” and “eat.”

“We’re getting there,” says Ashley. Bianca is scheduled to have her second implant in her left ear next year.

Candice is a rising junior at Virginia Wesleyan College in Norfolk, Virginia. She is majoring in communications with a concentration in film, and she also enjoys writing. During her internship, Candice hopes to gain more writing and professional experience. In return, she hopes to make a positive contribution to Airlift Hope of America.

Tennessee Civil Statute of Limitations Laws

For civil cases and procedures, such as lawsuits and judgments, states impose time limits called a statute of limitations . For instance, an injured person must file a lawsuit within a certain period of time after the time of the incident that caused the injury. If you fail to do so, you automatically forfeit your right to file suit; but states also accommodate for the fact that injuries may not be discovered until much later. Criminal law has a similar set of time limits, also referred to as the statute of limitations.

In Tennessee, as in other states, these time limits vary for different kinds of civil actions. For example, plaintiffs have one year in which to file a lawsuit for personal injury, three years for lawsuits involving personal property, and six years for the collection of rent and debts.

The following is a summary of Tennessee’s civil statutes of limitations, with additional links to related resources.

Injury to Person

Note:State laws are constantly changing. While we make every effort to make sure our State Laws section is up to date, you may also want to contact a Tennessee personal injury attorney or conduct your own legal research to verify the state law(s) you are researching.

What Is the Purpose of Statutes of Limitations?

There are a couple of key reasons why civil courts in Tennessee and elsewhere impose statutes of limitations. For one, they help ensure that claims are filed soon enough after the incident that evidence remains clear and useful (including witness testimony). Additionally, these time limits prevent potential plaintiffs from threatening lawsuits indefinitely. It’s important to keep in mind that the statute of limitations may be paused (or tolled ) if the plaintiff was a minor at the time of the incident or mentally incompetent.

Free Claim Evaluation by a Tennessee Lawyer

Tennessee’s civil time limits for filing your injury case often depends on the type of injury involved. The statute of limitations is longer for collection of rent than it is for personal injury, for example. While this can all get a bit confusing, you don’t have to figure it out alone. Let a skilled injury attorney evaluate your legal claim now at no cost to you to learn more.
